What Is Animal Control?

Eaton County Animal Control is a law enforcement aAnimal Control Buildinggency. Animal Control is not a humane society or an animal rescue. Animal Control is a division of the Sheriff's Office under the direction of Sheriff, Tom Reich. This branch of the Sheriff's Office handles and investigates complaints involving domestic animals.

Non-Domestic Animals

Complaints involving non-domestic animals are the responsibility of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources at 517-284-9453.

New Information - Dog Licensing

Effective December 1, 2019, dog licenses will no longer be sold at Animal Control.  Please see the above Dog Licensing Information tab for complete details and locations.

To request service or to be contacted by an Animal Control Officer, please call Eaton County Central Dispatch at 517-543-3510 and follow the prompt. If your call is an emergency you may call dial 911.

Special Care Fund

Eaton County Animal Control has a special care fund. The purpose of this fund is to pay medical expenses for seriously injured animals that are in our care. Anyone wishing to contribute to this fund, please send your donation to:
