Due to current issues and challenges, arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, please see the below update concerning the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office - Record Division.  

 Appointments for Services:

 All appointments for services will continue through June 11th.   

On June 14th, the lobby window will be open for walk-ins on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.  However, fingerprinting will not be available during the lunch hours from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

On July 6th, we will transition to being fully open for services.

 FOIA Requests:

 NOTE - Processing time for FOIA requests, after payment has been received, may be delayed due to issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 Sex Offender Registration:

Walk in registration services for sex offenders has been discontinued as of 4/15/21.  Beginning on Monday 5/3/21, appointments for such in-person services can be scheduled via our Records Division website.  Records Division | Eaton County, MI

No appointment is needed to register a firearm. Please utilize the Pistol Sales Drop box located in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office, or at the Delta Twp Substation.  

If you are in need of firearm purchase permit, and also have a valid CPL/MCOLES number, please obtain a purchase permit online at the following website: https://www.michigan.gov/documents/msp/ri-060_696761_7.pdf

The Records Section is staffed personnel who process and maintain over 20,000 criminal and non-criminal reports yearly. All reports are computerized to form a database and for later retrieval as necessary. The Records Section also issues purchase permits, provides documents and reports to citizens and answers general questions. Court Ordered Fingerprints -

Anyone in need of court ordered fingerprints are to report to the Receptionist on the left hand side of the lobby.  Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
