Upcoming Driving Enforcement Campaigns -
Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over is a nationally recognized campaign that focuses on law enforcement and their goal to stop drunk drivers, highlighting a constant police presence searching for drunk drivers as a way of deterring people from drinking and driving.
The effectiveness of the campaign has broadened over the years to include If you Feel Different, You Drive Different; Drive High, Get a DUI, in which local law enforcement will show zero tolerance for drug-impaired driving. Increased state and national messages about the dangers of driving impaired, coupled with enforcement and increased officers on the road, aim to drastically reduce drug-impaired driving on our nation’s roadways. During this 2021 Labor Day holiday, local law enforcement organizations will partner with NHTSA to get drug-impaired drivers off the roads and help save lives.
Another campaign is the 2021 impaired driving national enforcement mobilization "Ride Sober or Get Pulled Over" focusing on motorcyclists. One of the deadliest and most often committed - yet preventable - of crimes (impaired driving), has become a serious safety epidemic in our country.
All these campaigns run from August 18 through September 6, 2021. Let’s all do our best to make this a safe Labor Day Holiday – drive save, drive sober, drive drug-free.
Yours in Public Safety,
Sheriff Tom Reich
