On 05/22/19 at approximately
3:50 p.m. the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office Delta Patrol was dispatched to a
Retail Fraud at a local business. The suspect had removed an anti theft device
and attempted to walk out the door without paying. Store employees confronted
him and he dropped the stolen merchandise and fled on foot. Deputies located
him nearby where he was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was
found to be in possession of a 9MM handgun tucked in his waistband. The handgun
had a loaded magazine. Also located in his sock was an additional 30 magazine
for the handgun. The subject is now in custody at the Eaton County Jail
awaiting arraignment. He is being charged with CCW, Retail Fraud and removing
an anti-theft device. Possible Armed Robbery charges are pending.
