Sheriff Tom Reich announces Eaton County Response to Active Violence Incident Training Exercise –
Following months of preparation and planning, on June 20, 2019, the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with the Eaton Rapids Police Department, Eaton Rapids City Fire Department, and Eaton Rapids Public Schools are conducting an Active Violence Response Training exercise on the Eaton Rapids High School and Middle School Campus. There will be numerous law enforcement, fire department and EMS agencies from the greater Lansing area participating as well with numerous emergency vehicles in the area from 8am-4pm. This is an emergency response training exercise which will result in some road closures on Inverness and Greyhound during the exercise. Coordinators wanted to make sure the public was aware that this is a training exercise (not for public attendance) and is requesting that you avoid the area if possible.
